Surgeons and Staff
The Weight Loss Team consists of certified and experienced bariatric surgeons as well as a large enough staff to provide each patient with 2 personal nurses. Together, they have gained a 40-45% referral rate.
Dr. Jorge Arturo Parra has over 7 years of training and experience in bariatric and general surgery. Dr. Parra is the only surgeon in Puerto Vallarta to achieve a Masters’s Degree in Bariatric Surgery from the University Autonoma in Barcelona, Spain.
Fluent in English, Dr. Kurt Kasten Paredes graduated from the Universidad Autónoma de Guadalajara in 2002 and is well known for his advanced knowledge in bariatrics.
Dr. Edgar Ortiz is a board-certified bariatric anesthesiologist who has worked with the Weight Loss team to create and share new methods in anesthesia to make patients feel safer and more comfortable before and after surgery.
